Ashton's Pov:
After I picked Mackenzie up I had to run back home to get money from Aunt Alice. We pull up to the yard and I see Caylee doing yoga and I felt my heart break. "You really like her don't you?" Mackenzie asked me "Yeah I do." I said and she smiled at me. "She hates my guts though." I said "I will work on her." Mackenzie said and I smiled. I got out and I waved at Caylee who looked up "Do you remember Caylee?" I asked and Mackenzie smiled "Hi, were you doing yoga?" She asked "Yeah." Caylee said I could feel the ice in her voice. "That's cool." She said "We're going to get ice cream, do you want to come?" I asked hoping she would agree "No thanks." She said "Okay I will be a minute." I said leaving them and walking inside. Aunt Alice gave me some money "Do you see Caylee out there?" Aunt Alice asked "Yeah." I said "invite her." She said "I tried and she told me no." I said "She's playing hard to get." Aunt Alice said and I smiled at her. I went back out "Sorry I had to talk to Alice. Shall we go?" I asked and Mackenzie smiled "Yeah. See you around." She told Caylee who nodded at her.
Once we left Mackenzie looked at me "Ash, forget out her. She isn't worth it." Mackenzie said. "Yes she is. She's worth it and more." I said getting offensive over Caylee. "She doesn't like you." Mackenzie said "She's in love with me." I said and she just looked at me. After our ice cream she asked to be dropped off at the beach and then I just went to the park and sat on the swing. I wasn't sure if Caylee did like me or if she actually hated my guts. I got home and Caylee was still outside, but this time she was just laying in the grass. I slowly walked up the steps and let Hoss out who ran to Caylee. I slowly walked over to Caylee and I laid down next to her looking up at the stars not saying anything. I wasn't about to speak because she would get startled or something.
Caylee and Ashton's Pov:
Caylee heard Ashton pull up but didn't move, it was around nine and her grandma wasn't home yet and neither was Liam. Ashton walked up his steps and let Hoss out and then he walked over and laid down next to her. They stared at the stars for a few minutes and Caylee finally spoke "How was your date with Mackenzie?" Caylee asked with ice in her voice "She wanted dropped off." Ashton said "Why?" Caylee asked not looking at him, she was rubbing Hoss though. "She knew I liked another girl." Ashton said "Oh." Caylee said her heart breaking a little more. "She's a lucky girl." Caylee said "She doesn't realize it though." Ashton said "How come?" Caylee asked "She has this emotional wall up and won't let me in." Ashton said "Oh." Caylee said "Caylee, I'm asking you to let me in." Ashton said "I don't know." Caylee admitted "Why don't you date anybody?" Ashton asked Caylee who still wouldn't look up but she was rubbing Hoss softly. "I don't want to get hurt. I'm not sure if I can love someone. I know that if you love someone they will be taken away from you." Caylee said.
"I'm not a cheater, a liar, or a player Caylee." Ashton said "Allie said." Caylee said realizing how childish she sounded. "Allie is friends with my ex, who broke up with me for another guy. But told everybody I cheated on her." Ashton said "Everybody has baggage, it's called your past. You can let it run your life or stay where it belongs." Ashton said and Caylee finally rolled onto her side where she was staring at him "I'm scared of getting hurt." Caylee said "You are a dancer." Ashton said "Yes." Caylee said "Dancers can get hurt, correct?" Ashton asked "They can." Caylee said "You love dance with a passion. Life is like dance. You have to take risks Caylee." Ashton said "You're right." Caylee admitted "Caylee, let's go out tomorrow. A real date." Ashton said getting ahead of himself "You're right. Okay." Caylee said smiling at Ashton. Caylee sat up and so did Ashton and she hugged Ashton and she felt really close to him.
"Promise me something?" Ashton asked Caylee "What?" Caylee asked "You won't get upset at me tomorrow." Ashton said and Caylee giggled "I won't." Caylee said and Ashton got up and helped Caylee. He wanted to kiss her lips but he knew it wasn't the right time. Caylee was thinking the same thing but neither of them voiced their opinions. "Do you want something to drink?" Ashton asked "Yeah, anything." Caylee said and Ashton went inside to get two sodas and Caylee stayed outside rubbing Hoss. Ashton came back out with two glasses of Dr. Pepper and he handed one to Caylee "I love Dr. Pepper." Caylee said and Ashton smiled "Can dancers drink sodas?" Ashton asked "Depends on how strict your instructor is." Caylee said and Ashton stared at Caylee with love in his eyes and Caylee smiled at him. "I should head in." Caylee said and Ashton nodded "I don't want you to go." Ashton said "Why?" Caylee asked "I'm scared you will get upset." Ashton said and Caylee laughed "You have to take risks." Caylee said "Ha-ha very funny." Ashton said and Caylee smiled "See you." She said walking away and Ashton watched her walk away wanting to call her back and Caylee was hoping he would call her back.
