The next day I woke up feeling like I had just slept on a block of concrete. My back was killing me! How the heck does Erik sleep on this thing day after day?! I slowly sat up letting a small whimper of pain escape from my mouth. I looked over to where Chase and Becca where suppose to be, but to my surprise they where no were to be found. I shrugged my shoulders and took a quick glance at the clock that hung on the wall while standing up. It read 11:30… Eleven. Freaking. Thirty. Why did nobody wake me up! I walked around the house looking for someone to yell at. To my misfortune the whole place was empty. I sighed and walked into my room. I was about to change when I saw a lump under my covers. That was close I almost forgot that Erik used my room last night. I walked over to my bed and uncovered him. He looked so comfy all curled up in a ball like that. I put my hand on his bare shoulder and started to shake him awake.
"Hey Erik! Come on its time to get up-AHH!" He grabbed my arm and pulled me into bed with him. "Erik what do you think you're doing! LET ME GO!!!!"
"So warm." He mumbled in his sleep while nuzzling my neck. If only I had my gun I wouldn't of hesitated to shot his sorry ass. I tried to pry his arms away from my waist but it was no use. I was stuck. It's official, I hate my life. I would just have to wait for him to wake up on his own. Five minutes passed by and I was fine. Ten minutes went by and I was starting to get irritable. By the time twenty came I felt like I was losing my mind.
"ERIK CROSS I DEMAND THAT YOU LET ME GOOO!!!" I screamed at the top of my lungs after losing my patience. He shifted a little then let out a groan. I think he was finally starting to come too.
"Kayla is that you? Well I guess you couldn't resist my offer after all." He said slowly releasing me, after I was out of his grip I got up and walked over to my closet without a word. I opened the door and pulled out my metal baseball bat. I turned back towards Erik and started to swing the bat a few times
"If you want to live I suggest you start running." I said looking up into his eyes. After seeing the murderous intent vibrating of my body he bolted out of the room and I wasn't far behind.
By the time I was done trying to knock my partners head off his shoulders, we were both panting on the floor unable to move. Erik was covered in lumps and bruises, so I had become satisfied. I saw him try to get up out of the corner of my eye. He winced and hissed a few times until he was finally up into a sitting position up against the wall. Yup I was defiantly satisfied. I on the other hand was still laying there in the middle of the floor. I was too tired to move. By the time I was finished with Erik it was already going on three. Yeah now you know why I'm so tired, and to add to it I was starving as well.
"Were back!" I looked out into the hallway and saw Becca and Chase walk through the doorway. In their arms was food from none other than the golden arches. McDonalds. If I hadn't had any dignity I would have started to drool.
"Is that what I think it is?" I asked my eyes glued to the two bags.
"Yup! Want some? We bought enough for all of us." Becca said smiling.
"Becca if I could stand right now I would hug you. I just wanted you to know that."
"Thanks Kayla. Come on in the kitchen so we can eat." Crap. That was a problem.
"I can't stand. Can't you just give it to me so I can eat on the floor.
"No! you cannot eat on the floor that's unsanitary!"
"But I can't get up!"
"Well I guess that means you won't be able to eat." I looked over to where the voice came from and it was none other than Erik. "don't worry I'll eat enough for the both of us." He said getting up and limping to the kitchen. It took everything I had not to laugh. Wait.
"No! he's not eating my share!" I screamed and started to stand up. Man I was out of shape. I use to be able to run around the track for hours on end. I finally accomplished my goal and dragged myself all the way to the kitchen. I collapsed on the chair and started to go through the first bag I could get my hands on.
"Hey! You could at least let use look to!" Becca said trying to snag the bag.
"My house. I get first dibs." I looked through the bag and only found healthy foods. "Becca what is this? Did you only order the healthy stuff off the menu? What happened to the greasy hamburgers and fries?"
"That stuff is bad for you so I got all the stuff that's good for you." She said as if everything was all fine and dandy.
"Chase please tell me you have something good in that bag of yours?" I said on the verge of tears. All I wanted was a tasty meal. '
"Your lucky I was there." He opened up his bag revealing five BIG Mac's and three large fries. I grabbed a burger and wasted no time in stuffing my face.
After we were finished I put the leftovers in the fridge. I then thanked Chase and Becca for the meal. Mostly Chase. They then left for home.
"'bout time that they left! I was starting to believed that they were never going to leave." Erik said flopping down on the couch.
"How do you sleep on that couch?" I asked interested in how he managed to sleep on that thing for so long without complaining.
"What do you mean?" He asked opening one of his eyes to look at me.
"It's uncomfortable isn't it?"
"Yeah I guess. But its better then the floor." He said closing his eye.
"O okay then. So can I ask you a question?"
"Depends what it is."
"What type of house did you grow up in?"
"Well my childhood house was located in a huge forest. I don't remember the name though. I had a father, mother and two younger sisters. All and all it was a pretty normal family."
"Why are you only half demon?" I asked really getting into what he was telling me.
"My father was demon and my mother was human. It's not uncommon for that to happen. My mother got pregnant with me before my father turned her demon, so I came out as a half demon instead of full."
"O I understand so then both your sisters are full demons." It makes sense there was such thing as civil demons that gave corporations like Lucifer information on where to look for more evil ones.
"Yeah what is your families names?" He looked caught off guard but still answered the question
"My mother's name is Theresa Cross. My father is James Cross. My two younger sisters are Alice and Alicia, there Identical twins."
"How do you tell them apart?"
"You have a lot of questions you know that." Erik said opening his eyes. "Alice has short shoulder sweep hair while Alicia's hair goes down to her mid back."
"I wish I could meet them. They sound so cute." I said leaning up against the wall.
"You will. They'll probably come looking for me any day now."
"What do you mean?" I asked confused.
"I left home without telling anyone. So they'll probably come to find me soon, but enough about me tell me about you."
"What do you want to know?" I asked starting to get nervous.
"Everything." He said looking into my eyes. This was bad. I couldn't tell him about my family. I don't want anyone's pity. What was I going to do!?
