“Taylor!, Taylor!” My best friend AJ yelled across the schoolyard. “Alise Jane!” I scolded as I met up with her. “You know you’re not supposed to yell at school.” “Sorry, Sorry” She said not sorry at all. “But there is a totally hot new guy over there go check him out”. “You know I don’t have time for relationships AJ”. I’m in a band called Lead Based Paint. My dad made up the name. I’m the lead singer. We have to practice every day after school. “Hey I’m in the band and I still have time for Logan.” she said as if to prove a point. “Yes but the difference is that Logan is our drummer if I start going out with guy he won’t be in the band” I said proving my point. The boy was holding a guitar case. “I can fix that” AJ said with a smirk on her face. I knew what she was thinking. “AJ No!!” I yelled at her as she ran across the schoolyard. “Hi you’re new here aren’t you?” AJ greeted the boy as she ran up to him. “Yep I’m Brian” He said with a grin. “I’m Alice Jane but everyone here calls me AJ.” “I just happened to see you had a guitar” She continued. By that time I caught up to her. “Yeah I was in a band before I moved.” “Electric and Acoustic guitar.” “Awesome” AJ said pretending to be awed. She’s good at that. “Me and my friend Taylor” She said pointing to me. “Are in a band.” “Taylor’s the lead singer, I’m on base” She continued pointing to her guitar case. “We just lost our male lead” AJ lied smoothly. “We were wondering if maybe you’d like the part.” “We’re desperate that’s why we asked you.” “Ok” Brain agreed. “Alright meet us in the parking lot after school.” “We go to our drummer’s house for practice” AJ finished. “Ok bye” Brian said. “Bye” AJ said. “Well awesome job AJ” I said sarcastically. “But now you have to tell the band that we have a new male lead.”
