"Hey." I greeted my best friend, bailey, as I climbed into his pick up truck. I've known Bailey since fourth grade when I first moved to this hell hole of a state.See cancer took my mother in the summer of third grade. My dad couldn't deal with it so he moved from lower Wisconsin to a big empty farm house in the middle of michigan. Hes been pretty mellow ever since. He even lets Bailey sleep over some times. Me and Bailey never do anything, Just you know hang, play Xbox, eat junk food, then pass out in my bedroom. I smiled as I remembered all of the times bailey has slept over.
"Hello? Earth to Sam? I just asked you if your ready for your first day of high school." Bailey asked waving his hand in front of my face. I grinned and pushed his hand away from my face.
"Are you?" He asked again. I shrugged and brushed a strand of my red hair out of my face. I died it in the summer because I was tired of the ugly brown color it had. When Bailey first saw my new hair color he freaked. Saying how he didn't want me to become an artificial barbie doll. He was freaking out because his mom has so much plastic on her body its surprising she doesn't have a "made in china" tattoo on her butt and he hates it.Accpecaily since His mom is always pointing out his flaws and saying.
"This all can be fixed with surgery."
Anyway it took about fifteen minutes of promising that this is the only thing Im going to do with my hair and that I wasn't going to turn into a miniature version of his mom. Well I wouldn't be a miniature version at all since I'm near six feet tall. Bailey was only about an inch taller then me.
"Yah neither am I." Bailey murmured breaking me out of my memories. He was frowning with his shaggy black hair hanging over his blue eyes. That was one thing I envied about him. He had these perfect baby blue eyes. My eyes are brown. A boring plain color.
"Sam!" Bailey said.
"What?" I asked.
"You seem out of it." He leaned towards me looking at my eyes.
"Are you high or something?" He asked. I narrowed my eyes and jokingly hit him on the shoulder.
"No, And even if I was you know that I would have shared with you." I joked.
"That is true." Bailey replied stroking his chin and trying to look sophisticated. I bursted out laughing.
"Your so dumb." I laughed.
"Ah, Yes. But that's the reason you love me so much." He smiled. I laughed again. When I was finished laughing I noticed that we were in the high school parking lot.
"How long have we been here?" I asked. Bailey shrugged.
"Five, ten minutes." He replied. I glanced at my watch It was 7:43. I let out a sigh of relief. We weren't late.
"C'mon If you want breakast your gonna have to get out." I told him. He nodded and grabbed his backpack. I picked mine up. I threw it lazily over my shoulder. Bailey fell into step next to me as we entered our prison for the next four years. Get ready High school, Here I come.
