Soldiers Love

"Deep breaths, deep breaths." , I was told as my eyes fluttered open. What happened? Did I faint?

"Inhale.", I heard as I took a deep breath in. I counted the seconds that were silent after my gasp of air.

One.

Two.

Three.

"Exhale.", I let slowly let out oxygen, as my mouth opened wider.

"What happened?"

"You fainted."

I slid down farther on the hardwood floor. I looked at my wrist and saw it was 10:30 at night. Did I faint, or did I fall asleep?

"Where's..."

"Scott? Oh he left this morning. Remember, his mission? He had to leave today?"

Shit! I forgot that. I hope he's ok. I miss him so...

"Remember?"

Damn! Was this girl ever goning to let me finish anything? My teeth clenched with anger, but I nodded my head .

"Yes, I remember. Now." I whispered, trying to avoid the crackes in my voice as tears rushed down my blushing cheeks.

"It's ok, he's going to be back, I promise. It's only for the summer. He will be back, I know he will."

More tears rushed down rushed down my rosy cheeks. The thought of being without him all summer burned my throat. I started to cough wildly.

"Breathe, breathe!"

"Don't tell me what the fuck to do!" I screamed as more tears fell from my eyes.

"Do you want to talk about it?"

"No, leave me alone!",I screamed as I slapped her.

She fell of her knees with a loud snap.

"Owww! What the hell, Annabella?"

"OhAlice, I'm so sorry!"

More tears seeped through my eyes. My arms fell from her red face.

"Why can't I do anything right? Why am I so stupid? "

"You're not stupid.",I heard a familiar voice say.

"Jailynn!", I yelled as my sorrow disappeared.

Jailynn slid down to me on the hard floor and gave me a friendly hug.She looked at Alice. She was still lying onthe floor.

"She got upset about Scott, didn't she?"

"Yep.", Alice mumbled in pain. She moved herhand towards the cheek that washit.

"You know he's going to be back. Honestly, Annabella, he's fighting for your freedom,if I were you, I'd be flattered.

"CAREFUL", Alice screamed," I got hit that way!"

Jailynn stared atAlice in shock. Then, she rolled her eyes and refocused on me.

"You know it Annabella, you know he's going to befighting harder to come back home. Why? Becauseof you. You're why. He loves you."

"That's right", Alice chimmed in," don't hurt me!"

Jailynnshook her head, but remained looking at me. Finally, she spoke," What the fuck?"

I bursted in laughter. Islammed myself forward, then back against the wall. They joined in too.

So, ummm... can I stay here for the night?"

"Sure,Jailynn."

"What about me?", Alice wimmpered.

"Yes, you can stay. I mean why not when you and my floor have gotten along so well?",I joked.

"Har har har, very funny.", Alice complained.

I walked into mybedroom, as Alice walked into one of the guest rooms. Jailynn walked behind me and made sure I was ok, then walked into the last guest room.
