- Unwithered Love - Chapter 5 -
I went to my locker and opened it. I was going to reach in to get my Math book out, but I stopped because I was about to start crying. Then, to make my mood worse, Lennon and his disiples decided to come and torture me. They are still going to bug me? Even after yesterday? I asked myself.
"Hey Alex!" I heard Lennon yell. I heard their footsteps come and stop behind me. I felt Lennon's hand come and pull my hood off. I turned around and looked at him. He smiled and whispered something to his disiples. I saw them smile and start to walk towards me. I decided today was the last day I was going to let them walk all over me. I started walking forward. I pinned Lennon to the lockers on the other side of the hallway. I grabbed him and lifted him up above my head.
I smiled at him then said, "There is no one here to protect you this time." I raised my fist and punched him. Hard. I let him go and he dropped to the ground groaning. He looked up at me and he looked angry. He was holding his broken nose. His disiples lunged at me, but I just stepped out of the way. I looked at them then behind me at the door. I saw Karen standing there staring at me with huge eyes. Ray and Kurt were back up and they lunged at me again. I turned and faced them in a fighting stance. Before they reached me, I had time to take off my hoodie and leather jacket. I threw them aside and stared at Ray and Kurt with a smirk spread across my lips. They reached me and I jumped straight in the air above them. I landed behind them and elbowed Ray in the neck and kicked Kurt in the back. They fell over screaming. Then I fell over on my side and one of the bruises that was up pretty far on my leg, was showing. I looked above me to see Lennon with a bloody and broken nose staring at it. I was through dealing with him! I kicked with my leg and hit him, again, in the nose. He screamed and backed up.
"Ah! My nose!" he yelled from behind his hand. I threw myself up and landed on my feet. Lennon had slid down the lockers and was sitting on the ground. I looked over at Ray and Kurt and sawthat they were getting up. I walked over to them and kicked each one in the head and knocked them out. Then, to my surprise, another guy came up from behind and tried to hit upside the head. I ducked and hit him in the nose with the back of my hand. I walked back over to where Lennon was and stood above him with my fists clenched. My pupils were small and I was black. I looked down at him with my hair in my eyes. He looked up at me and gasped.
"Don't ever torture anyone else. If you do, you'll get more than just a broken nose." I told him, angry. I turned away from him and walked to where my hoodie and leather jacket was. I picked them up and walked away. When I reached my locker, there was cheering and laughing. I turned around because it sounded awfully close to me.
I saw pretty much everyone in the school smiling and saying, "Good job! You beat him! Good for you! I'm so happy! Now we don't have to deal with him! You're our savior!"
I smiled and said, "It was nothing really. I just was tried of him."
My first few classes were surprisingly happy and fun. Even the teachers were happy about what I did to Lennon and his disiples. After lots of happy classes and lots of laughing, lunch finally came. When the lunch bell rang, I walked out with my new friend, Kara. She had dark red hair, light blue eyes, and an encouraging smile. I met Karen at the door and we all walked to the cafateria. When we walked in, I looked up and saw a black haired boy that was surrounded by girls. I couldn't see his face.
"Who is that?" Kara asked Karen and I. I shrugged and Karen said that she didn't know. We started walking toward a table in the middle of the room. I always had my eye on the black haired boy. When we were almost to the table the boy turned around and I saw his face. It was Kamen! He saw me looking at him and he smiled his heart-warming smile. Kara noticed that I hadn't sat down yet.
"Alex? Whats wrong?" she asked. I heard her get up and walk over to me. Kamen was walking towards Kara and I. When he reached us, I heard Kara gasp.
"Hey Alex." he said, still smiling. I came out of my trance and smiled at him.
"Hi." I answered quietly. I looked over at Kara and saw her staring at Kamen like he was an angel. Well, he kinda was. I looked back up at Kamen just as he noticed Kara.
"Hi. What's your name?" he asked her, grabbing her hand and bending down to kiss it. She blushed majorly.
"K-K-Kara. W-What's y-your name?" she asked him nervously.
He let go of her hand and bowed before looking up at her and saying, "Kamen Miles Niels. May I ask your full name, Kara?" She nodded and curtsied.
"Kara Larmon. Kara Martha Larmon. Nice to meet you, Kamen Miles Niels." she said. I couldn't hold it in any longer! I just broke down laughing. Kamen and Kara both looked at me strange. "Sorry." I managed in between fits of laughter. Kamen smiled and stood up straight. He helped me up from of the ground and helped me sit down. By that time, I was calmed down. Kara was patting the seat next to her, signaling Kamen to come and sit by her. But Kamen sat down next to me. Karen then noticed that Kamen was here.
"Hey Kamen!" she said. He smiled his gentle smile and waved.
We were out in the front courtyard of the school, when Kamen looked towards the woods and gasped. He lost his joyful smile and turned completly toward the woods. I looked at him then followed his line of sight to a bright red spot right on the edge of the woods. I gasped myself as I realized the bright red spot... was Danny! I looked up at Kamen and he looked down at me in fear. I looked back at the red spot to see that it was moving. Toward us! Karen and Kara saw us looking toward the woods and saw the red spot that was Danny.
"What is that?" Kara asked us.
"That's not a 'what.' That's a 'who.' " Kamen said shakely. Karen looked at us both like we were crazy.
"Ok. Well, then, who is it?" she asked. Kamen was about to say something, but I beat him to it.
"That's Danny. Kamen's older brother." I told them. Kamen and I started to back up when Danny got closer. When we could see his face, he looked angrier than usual. I heard Kara gasp then swoon.
"Kamen!" Danny yelled in his really deep voice. Kamen opened his eyes really wide and started to back up faster than before. I realized that Danny was just following his father's orders. He probably didn't like being stuck in that house in the middle of the woods either. Then it hit me! Like a thousand pounds bricks! All I have to do, is get to Danny's soft spot. Their mother!
I stopped Kamen from backing up farther and stopped myself.
Kamenlooked at me and with his scared eyesthat asked me, "What are you doing?" I smiled and started to walk toward Danny. Danny had stopped and had his fists clenched and was really angry. Everyone from the school was watching this bright red haired boy. I met Danny and put my hood down and looked up at him. He looked down at me and got a surprised look on his face.
"Who are you?" he asked me angrly. I stood up straight and I was almost as tall as him.
"Alex Lexon. And I know who you are, Danny Niels." I said firmly. That got him.
"And I also know why you do this to Kamen. You don't want to end up like him. Hurt, scarred, and alone. I know that you're just following your father's orders. But you don't have to. You may be older than Kamen, but you can learn from him. He doesn't like being stuck in that house in the middle of the woods. I know you don't either. You want friends just as much as Kamen. Don't do this just because you're scared of your father. You can be the better person. You can stand up to your father. Kamen does it all the time. He doesn't yell at his dad, he just disobeys." I said softly. By the time I was done, Danny had calmed down and was thinking about what I had just said. I looked over at Kamen and he was staring at me like he just figured out I was a super hero or something. I looked back at Danny and slouched back down to my normal height. I looked at his face and saw tears starting to form in his eyes. I put my hand on his cheek and he looked at me.
I smiled and said, "It's going to be okay." He smiled back at me and wiped the tears away. I noticed that his eyes were pitch black like mine and they had little flecks of green and yellow in them. He turned to Kamen and walked over to him. Kamen shrinked back a little, but didn't back away.
"Listen Kamen. I'm really sorry for what I did to you. Your friend, Alex, is right. I was just being selfish. I didn't want to end up scarred like you. But, instead, I ended up getting scarred anyway. Not physically, but mentally and emotionally. I know you miss Mom as much as I do." he said softly. Kamen looked at his brother then walked foward and wrapped Danny in a hug. Danny just stood there for awhile, then wrapped his arms around Kamen. They just stood there for a few minutes before they pulled away. They turned around and walked with me toward Karen and Kara. When we reached them Danny was in the middle and Kamen and I were on either side of him. Kara walked up to Danny first and stuck out her hand for him to shake. He slowly shook it. When they let go Kara introduced herself.
"I'm Kara. Kara Larmon. What's your name?"
He smiled and said, "I'm Danny. Danny Niels. What a beautiful name. Kara." She smiled and blushed. Then he turned to Karen.
"I'm Karen. Karen Lexon. Alex's younger twin sister." she told Danny. He smiled. Then he turned to Kamen.
"You have very nice friends, Kamen. I like them." he told him.
