My eyes widened. "Oh! Jordan! I uh, I wanted to thank you. For risking your life to bring me here" I stammered, sounding like a complete idiot, again. Some princess I am. He smiled at me. It was a smile I had only read about and seen on movies. It's the one that makes you go week in the knees. That kind of smile.
"It was my pleasure" he said, kissing my hand again. Only this time, it was slow so I could feel the coolness of his lips pressing against the warm flesh of my hand. He brought my hand back away from his mouth, but it striked me odd, he didn't let go.
"I umm....I know it's proper and everything but you don't have to do that you know. Not that I don't want you to! I mean, it's just, you know" I rambled and it took all my restraint to keep myself from slapping myself across my face. That was the stupidest thing I had ever uttered in my entire life.
"I know" he said, smiling before picking back up the broom he had apparently dropped. He started sweeping on by me and my nose caught his scent. It tickled all of my senses. The smell of rain and cinnamon. I kept staring at where he had been the moment before, trying to catch my breath. I wondered if every vampire would have this affect on me. If so, I was in trouble. Suddenly I felt icy breath on my ear. "But I want to." His voice was soft and when I turned, he was all the way on the other side of the room, sweeping still. I felt kind of faint. It was so much, I didn't quite know how to handle it. What I did know is that I wanted to find a way to spend more time with him. I tried to think of something.
"Jordan" I started, pausing trying to think fast. He turned to look at me with questioning eyes. Those eyes again. I have to try and focus! "Do you think that you could give me a tour?" Aha! Perfect, finally I say something right. He smiled, real innocent like.
"Sure" he said, setting the broom down against the bar and was in front of me before I could even blink. He opened the door and held it for me. It amazed me what a gentleman he was. I wondered if he was an original and that's why he was like that. Deep down, I hoped he was. We walked down the hall in a comfortable silence.
"I can't show you every room because there are too many. There are even some I have yet to discover the contents of" He explained. He stopped at one door that was a light red with a black border and a brown door knob. He turned the knob and opened the doorway to a room filled with gorgeous pantings. Each piece had a biography on the wall underneath. "This is the art gallary. Holder of all the greatest paintings in all of Valgarsi" he said with admiration. I couldn't blame him. I loved art too.
"Wait, what's Valgarsi?" I asked. He laughed, music to my ears.
"Why it's all around you. It's the relm that we live in" he said like he couldn't believe that I hadn't known.
"Wow, fact learned" I said grinning. He laughed again and I vowed to make that happen as much as possible. We headed down the hall some more before he stopped apon another door. This one was forest green. Before he opened it, his face was aglow, his skin like snow.
"This is one of my favorite rooms" he said, pushing it open to see one of the most beautiful sites I had ever seen up close. It was a room filled with so many plants and flowers. It was filled with light and little ponds and rivers of water. There was a balcony on the far side of the room. "This is the green room. I come in here and water the plants sometimes. Sometimes to think" he said, seeming far away. I was amazed at the beauty of it all. I couldn't resist, walking through and admiring the nature. The feel of being around so much earth was phenominal. I was drawn toward the balcony. It was circular and it probably wasn't made to be stood on by more than two people in a crowd risk. I looked out, seeing the outside of the castle for the first time and found myself looking out upon a masterpiece. I leaned against the ledge, looking out at the trees and grass, the sun reflecting in waters. I felt Jordan's presence beside me.
"It's amazing isn't it?" He asked.
"It's beautiful" I said breathlessly. I was in a far away world. Literally.
"Two beauties. They complete each other" his smooth voice broke through my trance. I turned to find him looking at me. I gasped at the way his skin glinted in the sun.
"What?" I asked, biting my lip in habit.
"Valgarsi, it suits you" he said. I blushed a little.
"I don't know about that. It's really beautiful" I repeated, dazed. He continued to stare at me, green eyes meeting blue.
"You really don't see how beautiful you are, do you?" He said softly, reaching out and touching my cheek. The skin where his hand lay burned and I couldn't tell if it was from the blushing or not. He chuckled, sliding his hand away slowly. I felt at a loss, needing his touch again. I wished his hand was still there. I shook my head, trying to shake the feeling.
"I um, yeah. So are vampires really more like Twilight or Buffy?" I asked. Then I realized it was probably a stupid question. "Oh wait, you probably don't even know what those are. That's earth stuff" I thought out loud. He laughed again.
"Oh yes I know all about them. I like to study up on the theories of earth at times. I'd definitely say Twilight by a long shot. Stephanie, boy she's a smart one. She only got a few things wrong. We like food just as much as any human and we don't each have our own individual powers. Oh and we don't shimmer in the sun, but we definitely don't die like Buffy suggests. I don't know where they come up with that stuff man alive. It's funny to watch though" he said. I laughed at that. A wide grin spread across his face. "I like your laugh" he said. I blushed.
"Thanks. It's nothing special" I said shyly. He really wasn't shy at all. Very blunt and out there actually. "Yours is better" I whispered soft enough so he wouldn't hear me. "Not really. Why are we whispering?" He asked whispering back. I jumped. Great, I sucked at being quiet too. "Well come on. I have a lot more to show you" he said, holding out his hand. I looked at it, not quite sure. "Wow, I call that rejection" he joked, but I could hear the hurt in his voice. My heart clenched. He started to walk towards the door and I ran up next to him, taking his hand in mine. When I looked up at him, he was smiling.
