The village was like a midevil fair. There were silver smiths, old fashioned bakeries, food stands, flower shops and all kinds of things. It was so cool because I felt like I had been sent back in time or something. Though I suppose time literally stops here, seeing as everyone in this realm is a vampire. Except me. Great...

"Come on Vy" Lily said, pulling me once again but this time in the direction of a nearby flower shop. It had green bricks with two large windows holding bunches of beautiful flowers in them. Over a large apple red door, there was a sign with the words E-Flowers written in black cursive. She pulled me through the door and I heard a little bell ring just like some of the stores back home. It was nice to hear something familiar. There were different sorts of flowers hanging everywhere. Lilies, violets, carnations, roses among others. There were some I didn't even recognize and I wondered if there were some that only grew in Valgarsi. At the front desk, there was a girl who looked to be 18 or maybe 19 but she must have been older because she definitely had to be a vampire judging by her looks. Infact, she looked a little familiar. She was sweeping off some petals that had fell on the desk from the boquet of lilacs hanging on the ceiling over the desk. She looked up at the sound of the bell. A smile was imediately evident on her face.

"Lily, what a pleasant suprise" she said cheerfully and then her eyes traveled to me. She cocked her head to the side, inspecting me.

"Erin, it's Violet" Lily said, pushing me forward gently, closer into her view. Her jaw dropped and she ran out from behind the counter, hugging me. I seemed to be getting a lot of these lately. I patted her back awkwardly. Who was this girl and why was she hugging me? She pulled away from me and held me by the shoulders like our dad had.

"Let me look at you. Wow, you've grown! And still human I see, as I expected" she said, making quick work of getting everything out. I caught all of it, yet I still had no idea what she was going on about.

"Violet, it's your Aunt Erin! Remember me? I used to babysit you when you were just little babies!" She said, seeing the confused look on my face. My eyes went wide. That's crazy! She looks like she's our age! Then I remembered. Hello, vampire!

"Wow. It's nice to see you" I said, hugging her. I liked all the welcoming family members. "Oh hun, I'm so sorry you had to go away. I was against the whole thing!" She said, furiously. "It was those over protective parents of yours! Man, my sister, she was crazy paranoid about you two! I told them that we could protect you! Yet they wouldn't listen to reason! And then they sent you to that ghastly home. No place for my nieces, no place at all" she said, shaking her head. I laughed, knowing that she would probably become one of my favorite people in the world. She was like the cool aunt I had always wanted. Then it hit me that she was our mom's sister. No wonder she looked so familiar, she looked a lot like our mom, like her twin in fact except with blue eyes.

"I want to here all about what's happened over the years but I have to get back to work. Do you think you could come back around the shop around nine?" She asked with pleading eyes. "Why don't you just come to the castle?" I asked, confused. She was our mom's sister after all. She looked down.

"Your bloody parents shunned me from the castle after I argued against their decision to send you away" she said, sorrow hidden in her voice. I could tell she regretted not talking to our mother any longer.

"Well you come to the castle anyway. They don't have to know and besides, I think that's really unfair" I said, frowning. She bit her lip a little, looking nervous about the suggestion.

"I don't know. That might be a bad idea" she said, unsure.

"I insist. At nine, like you said" I said, finalizing the decision.

"Oh alright, I suppose" she said, eyeing me wearily.

"That's great Aunt Erin! Maybe you and mom can make up" Lily said, always looking for the optimstic outcome of a situation.

"Maybe..." she said disbelivingly.

"Well bye Aunt Erin!" Lily said, grabbing my hand once again and dragging me out of the store. She pulled me down the street a bit to a clothes shop called "Valsargi designs". There were a lot of dresses and robes filling the store. The walls were splashed with fusha. There were woman at sewing machines, making dresses quickly, threading fabric with skill. Some woman were walking around, browsing through the racks. She pulled me over to the check out counter. There was a beautiful girl there. Suprise suprise. But it was a strange, different kind of beauty. She had red eyes and full lips that were painted with ruby red lipstick. Her skin was grey instead of pale like all the others and she seemed to have a troubled aura about her. As we approached, she smirked and it sent chills up and down my spine. Not the good kind either. She kind of scared me.

"What have you dragged in now Lils?" she asked in a earth shattering voice.

"Nadine, this is my sister Violet. You remember I've talked about her" Lily said, still as enthusiastic as ever. I didn't know how she could not be intimitated by this girl.

"How could I forget. Violet right?" She asked, a smirk stilled played across her lips. Slowly, she pulled her hand out from behind the counter and held it out for me to shake. I stared at it, weary and hesitant. Finally, I shook her hand with my shaking one. Then I gasped. It was burning hot and I felt like my hand was on fire! I pulled my hand away quickly. She laughed.

"Oh come on Nadine, be nice" Lily said, a smile still on her lips like it was some kind of joke. I didn't find it very funny because my hand was still throbbing.

"Nadine's the niece of the demon king. She's treeted like a princess there because he has no heir" Lily said. Wow, no wonder she was so different.

"Yeah, but I got sick of it. Now I'm here. I like it better. It was too hot over there. You always feel like you're on fire" Nadine said nonchalantly. She still scared me and I didn't like her much.

"Well I just wanted you to meet her. We got to go off and meet some more people" Lily said smoothly guiding me out of the store.

"I know she seems a little rough around the edges but she's really cool once you get to know her. She became my best friend after my first year here" she said in her defense. I rolled my eyes. Oh sure. Whatever, I still didn't like her. She made me feel uncomfortable and she gave off a lot of negative energy.

"Hey, can you wait right here, I'm just going to go look for something" Lily asked. I nodded and she was gone in a second. I stood there for a moment before I heard a wail coming from a nearby shop. I turned in the direction it had come from. My eyes landed on a yellow bakery on the west side corner. Despite what my sister had asked, I made my way over to the store. I opened the wood door to find my nose filled with cinnamon. Everything smelt so good. Then I heard a slap and another wail. My focus was back. Behind the counter, a door was open. I carefully made my way over to behind the counter and toward the door. I peered in, trying to keep my presense unknown. I saw a girl on the ground with her face in her hands and I heard small whispering cries coming from her. She looked different than a regular vampire. Her skin was kind of sickly pale instead of the usual snow white and her hair was kind of a chalky black. I didn't see anyone else, but then again, the door was half close.

"And if I ever see you trying to steal from me again, I'll sell ya to someone even worse!" I heard the gruff voice of an angry man shout from behind the door. She looked up and I saw tears flowing from her pain ridden eyes. She looked over at me and I gasped before covering my mouth, realizing my mistake. I backed away from the door quickly. Then the door slammed open right where I had been a moment ago. A man stepped out and looked straight at me. He was indeed beautiful with eyes of gold and sunny brown locks but it was sheilded by his disgusting rage. He smirked.

"Ahh, I see we've got a spy. Oh and she's a royal I see" he said, stepping toward me in one large step making me come face to face with the towering man.

"What is that I smell?" He sniffed my hair and I cringed, taking a step back.

"Human blood? Not turned yet princess?" He stepped forward again, making me back into a wall.

"I can fix that" he said, his eyes flashing.
