Romance's Curtain Call

Poem By: Alice Oiseau
Romance

My summer romance has come and gone... but not gone completely. I still have his love and our memories...
But I have to move on...
This is mine - our - romance curtain call.
The romance may be over... but we still have a friendship like no other... and a love that will always remain true...

I know this poem is crap - no joke. Seriously. Its bad. Brace yourself. I'll rewrite it one day.
I can't write well after sobbing all day.
Its just being written because it needs to come out. View table of contents...

Romance's Curtain Call

by alice oiseau

*

Summer nights go by,

Memories born,

Love touched us

in a way that defied

everything.

*

Poetry from the heart,

Promises written in the stars.

*

A broken soul was healed

by your warm touch

Oh, how I love you so much...

*

Months pass

Memories will last

Blissful dreams

fill the gaps and empty seams.

*

I was stressed

but instantly you came

to my aid.

*

Time pressed on

And you seemed further away

than ever before...

*

I was scared

I was insecure

I was worried

Where did I go wrong?

*

We talked.

I was still your angel

and I always would be

And you were sorry for hurting me

*

You said you will come back

Until then I wait for your return

But now I must move on...

*

Summer romance has come and gone

But the love will not fade

Memories to last a lifetime

*

I cried my heart out

Wept until the tears stopped

Cried my hardest,

Cried my loudest,

Only you could put me back together

*

I will always love you

But I will find my prince

and open my heart to him.

*

You held my hand

Helped me stand

*

You taught me many things.

I learned what true love is

I learned romance like never before

And I also learned that as painful as the heartbreak is

The memories to look back on

were worth every minute of it...

*

We had a summer romance,

We savored the dance,

We wrote a love story,

And it remains unfinished

for our love is everlasting.

*

Two angels waltzed into the ball,

But now it is time

for romance's curtain call.

Aww. Alice. I loved it! I was listening to the perfect song too. ( All I ask of You, from The phantom of the Opera) Lol. It made it all the more emotianal. :)

Alice, I don't know what to say...I do know , i guess who is he?

U know what buddy, this is the beginning and certainly not the end...For now, I am leaving you alone for some time...But the doors of my heart and soul are always open for you...

Love is love - just pure love...nothing else...and every action in the Universe has an equal and opposite reaction ...I am sure here two hearts are weeping...Pardon me buddy, if I am wrong...
I am really at loss of words...

thank you pratibha :)

This is beautiful.....your emotions are well woven here. The happy days are coming, who knows, fate may be working on both your paths joining again for the next season, and lots more seasons to come.

Love it

Alice, this poem is straight from the heart, and perhaps you should not rewrite it even when you feel better - it will not be the same.

I am sorry that you are feeling low. But I am also glad that you are fighting bravely and trying to take things positively. I too have been in this situation once and all I can say is that as much as a catastrophe as it seems to be now, it will cease to matter later (even though you don't want it to). But that does not mean that those memories would go waste. You can still cherish them, and keep them forever. Only that then they will stop interfering with the rest of your life. Whether your paths will cross again or not, no one can say. But having crossed once, they have left your mind the richer, and I'm sure you will never have any regrets, even after you have moved on.

Instant remedies for moving on: Dressing up, eating well, exercising, writing, ...

wow alice, very heart felt. so sad and happy at the same time...sad for the obvious and happy for the reason that you've been touched by love and carry the experience with you everywhere now. really beautiful alice!

heh thanks

I don't think you need to re-write it. It's perfect the way it is. You got it all out, put it on the page, and let the emotions flow. Isn't that real poetry? Outstanding job Alice. I know you miss him, we all do. But you are both so strong, and I know that you both will never let go, even when the world crumbles to an end. Good luck:)
