I’m awakening from my long sleep,
And opening up my eyes to the world,
To you.
The stone around my soul is softening,
The ice around my heart is melting,
And it’s slowly starting to beat for you.
I finally can feel the warmth of your love.
I no longer am living alone in my dark, silent place.
I am living a life with you,
Because I have been awakened.
I can start repairing myself,
And caring for my wounds,
For I am no longer sitting dormant,
Waiting for something to save me,
Waiting for someone to wake me up.
You are helping me along,
Getting me used to feeling again,
To love,
And to pain.
You’re protecting me from the darkness.
I’m trying to ignore the lies,
The hate and deceit.
I feel so small in the world, now,
I’ve been away for so long it seems.
I was asleep for so long,
And walking in a dream.
Now I know the sadness,
And the suffering,
I wasn’t living in reality.
But now I have you by my side through this nightmare.
You are not afraid in my sweet awakening.
