On the Dunes

On a clear starlit night: I rested on the dunes;

listened to the ocean, singing its sweet tunes.

Waves keeping beat; by lapping on the sand;

I saw a falling star, thrown by God's own hand.

The smell of salt water; the fragrance of the sea;

I closed my eyes; my thoughts drifted onto thee.

Was not long ago; we walked a beach like this;

And under moonlit sky; we shared a silent kiss.

That night too, shooting star was seen above;

We made a wish upon it; a wish of lasting love.

Like the ocean tide; love can be drawn away;

taking you from me; on a mournful rainy day.

I savored moments spent; left with no regret;

But on nights like this; my heart cannot forget.

Stars are shining brightly; moon full and high;

ocean sings sweetly; but oh the wind doth sigh.
