alone with the man in the moon;

makinghearts beneath him swoon.

Would lovegrow without hishand;

or die likeroseon parched land?

If the moon hid his face;

lonely true love would be;

without his magic grace;

all young lover's to see.

Oh, moon stay as you are;

never to fade or dim;

without your presence I fear;

love's chances would be slim.
