The Ocean Slams Into Emitted Light

The ocean slams into emitted light,
covers it over shoulders,
eyes, a strand of hair
the back of the neck
pounding the fist
upon the rock.
Where may be the Seagulls
be this flock
that must swoop downward,
to touch the peaks of water?
Touch me, touch it
but current lifts away
and I lie here,
bright squint
just with sand around
and nothing
but a place of strength
becoming emaciated
knowing forgotten time
will have spent me
towards his life and love
is all that is to be across heaven
and then to hold her hand
with my head upon her breast.
