about a journey to get away from someone in the past

Crowded by passengers and unfamiliar sights;

the hum of the engine, the clank of the doors.

Gliding away, further and further away;

this is what i need, the keep thoughts of you at bay.

But the more i recline, from the town we once knew;

the sharper the blade balancing above this thin thread.

The thread of a life, with all else pulled apart;

now conscious of the day that i let this all start.

Please fill the engine, we must build our speed;

I could outrun you, just faster now please.

Knowing you're there, hardly thinking of me;

I know no other way, so faster now please.
