Selfish Hollow Love
By: Kristyn D’Angiolillo

They say that love is selfless
But I do not think so
I think love is selfish
Now that I’ve seen you go

You never really cared for me
Only for yourself
You never wanted to see me happy
The only joy for yourself

All the words and all the gifts
Were fake and hollow shells
Everything you said and did
Of insincerity it smells

When we were together
You made me feel complete
Now that you’re gone I’ve realized
That our love was bittersweet

You said that you’d love me
Forever and a day
But then you went and left me
Tearing my heart away

I’ll never see you again
Nor will we ever speak
Never will we meet again
You’ll never kiss me on my cheek
