Once Was Lover

Poetry By: CaptainDana

based on an event that did happen to me... just maybe in the other person's perspective.

I've crippled and now I sit alone

Nothing to do, nowhere to go

Send a message to a once was lover

Yet she still has sympathy like no other

I long for a hug, a cuddle, a kiss

Chained down, the simple things I miss

I'm in pieces while others are pure

But she's optimistic, looking to the future

There's something in her smiling eyes

That makes this pain less on my shoulders

And I begin to realize

The one I want to hug, cuddle and kiss is her

Longing for sun, longing for sky

Immobility has me reaching high

An angels takes my hand in hers

Belonging to my once was lover
