Tentative Way

Poetry By: catblaq

I wrote this when I was a teenager.
It wasn't for any boyfriend or whatever. I just wrote it out of the blue. I think it was gifted to me. It felt like it was an insight into my future. Just saying. " )

Tentative Way

Step by step
Walking down the aisle of life
Coming out of the shadows
Falling into your eyes
Awash in a glory no-one can ever know
Until they have drowned in the depths of your love

Laying me down
In the wide fields of gold
Setting my soul on high
Our hearts beat together
Together alone in our own sweet world
Our lives merge slowly into one another

I want you to know
I never meant this
Jumping from a height so high
The end is fathomless
What awaits at the end neither of us knows
I entrust my love to you, be gentle

Fools rush in where Angels fear to tread
Am I rushing, do I feel a fool?
Yes, I'm too fast but I'm scared to walk
Slow me down, make be brave
Show me the caution of your love
And nevermore shall I be afraid
