In the Heart of the Blindfolded

Poetry By: Chrysta
Romance

Why is it that we are blind-folded?

Before we could see, we could speak,

But all of the sudden we have covered our eyes and closed our mouths.

Why is it that we are blind-folded?

Before we could see, we could speak,

But all of the sudden we have covered our eyes and closed our mouths.

We used to talk, we used to smile at one another,

All the time.

And now we have closed ourselves off to another.

How can this happen,

After things have gone so well,

Now its stopped dead in its tracks.

They say that you are afraid,

But why of me,

Little, Insignificant me?

Why so afraid, when things could be so great?

I don't understand why,

But now I find that I too am afraid,

Afraid of things to come,

Afraid of what you will think of me.

So neither of us can be free.

Perhaps you have been hurt,

Well I have too,

And I can finally understand the mystery that is you.
