To you I am Sewn

Sewn are we,

Two lonely scraps,

at the bottom of the basket.

Never to be mended:

Our lengths too short,

Our colors too dull.

We see the interwoven threads,

Those so beautifully stitched,

Stitched forever tight, forever close...

Then you said to me;

Why not me, why not us?

Why not let us be hewn?

Aren't we just as good,

Just as we are?

Sewn, Hewn, Forever ingrown...

To you,

I am sewn.

For Scott.
