Journey’s End
Everyone is on a journey to find that special someone. For some that journey is longer than others. At some point though everyone reaches their destination. Everyone waits for his or her journey’s end…
The seas of my heart ebb to and fro.
Compass in hand and map laid out
I need my route to go.
For so long I have been falling off the edge
Fought away monsters from my ship.
I am the determined captain aboard
My only wish is to complete my trip.
Like Columbus I unknowingly took the long way around
To reach my destination.
But the oceans have not been kind to me
I’ve faced to many complications.
In spite of all my troubles
I wish to sail to your arms.
I have sailed oceans of time
Whistling the sailor’s song.
I have searched all of the stars
In your heart I wish to belong.
For years my voyage has been fruitless
Another day, another heartbreak.
If my heart had a padlock, it’s been struck so many times
I don’t know how much more I can take.
But now I can see the horizon
As I make my way around the twilight bend
I have found you at last my love.
I have reached my journey’s end.
I’ve often climbed up the mast
Just to look for you in the stars.
But the pirates of love have invaded
And left me with so many scars.
I look to all of my mates
And they’re happy with the loves of their lives.
They never complain they always smile
As they dance merrily with their wives.
However I cannot share their joy
Their love makes me sad.
I have never held a girl in my arms
I long for the chance to have had
Experienced a loving kiss.
I have sailed oceans of time
Whistling the sailor’s song.
I have searched all of the stars
In your heart I wish to belong.
For years my voyage has been fruitless
Another day, another heartbreak.
If my heart had a padlock, it’s been struck so many times
I don’t know how much more I can take.
But now I can see the horizon
As I make my way around the twilight bend
I have found you at last my love.
I have reached my journey’s end.
I wish you could be here with me
We could put an end to each other’s tears.
With you I could truly be alive
And I’d protect you from your fears.
No more waves could topple this vessel
It is smooth sailing from here.
My ship is docked; I’m home at last
I’ve finally found you my dear.
I have sailed oceans of time
Whistling the sailor’s song.
I have searched all of the stars
In your heart I wish to belong.
For years my voyage has been fruitless
Another day, another heartbreak.
If my heart had a padlock, it’s been struck so many times
I don’t know how much more I can take.
But now I can see the horizon
As I make my way around the twilight bend
I have found you at last my love.
I have reached my journey’s end.
I have sailed oceans of time
Whistling the sailor’s song.
I have searched all of the stars
In your heart I wish to belong.
For years my voyage has been fruitless
Another day, another heartbreak.
If my heart had a padlock, it’s been struck so many times
I don’t know how much more I can take.
But now I can see the horizon
As I make my way around the twilight bend
I have found you at last my love.
I have reached my journey’s end.
