Dreams
Let me tell you 'bout a dream I've had for several nights
It involves the blackest rose glowing silver in the light
Of a thousand stars upon its scars, borne for all to see
But of all lights there’s only one whose healing hands it needs
In my dream there is a view, yet colour is not there
It seems something is missing, for as long as I may stare
But once I do avert my eyes, and seek what should be sought
Its missing but an artist, whose talents can’t be bought
From the sky a drop of paint fell to the barren ground
Yet in this dream there was no cloud to possibly be found
From the drop a splash of life gave colour to the land
And soon the rose was soothed beneath the artists loving hand
I once was told of meanings, that can be found in dreams
And likewise someone said to me, all isn’t what it seems
So maybe I am just a rose, one blackened by the night
And maybe you’re the artist, who paints my life with light
