Roses know her name

In a world that seemed so dark to me, but not for lack of light to see

the nameless people stumble in their games.

Pulled along by diamond strings, but with no puppeteers to make them sing

in hopes that their actions will grant them fame.

Pushing through this swell and throng, I tripped, I fell to earth where I belong

and felt a movement under hand.

It was at that point when you walked by, the world it stopped and all clouds left the sky

I spoke as flowers sprouted from the sand

And I said…

'How can I ask what beauty is when roses know your name.

How can I ask where Eden is if when you smile the questions lost and

dare I ask what sunshine is when light is in your eyes.

How can I ask what life may mean if when you leave I know I'll die inside.'

'How can I ask what beauty is when roses know your name.

How can I ask where Eden is if when you smile the questions lost and

Dare I ask what sunshine is when light is in your eyes.

How can I ask what life may mean if when you stay I'll never leave your side.'

In this world that seemed so grey to me, but not for lack of light to see

the nameless people carry on their games.

Those diamond stings were made of glass, Their strife for fame is nothing but a farce

guidance in absence has left them tame.

Back on earth where I had fell, the flowers grew around a wishing well

I cast a coin and with it hope sublime.

And as those people up above glanced down on us and witnessed first true love

they too all wished this moment locked in time.

As I said…

How can I ask what beauty is when roses know your name.

How can I ask where Eden is if when you smile the questions lost and

Dare I ask what sunshine is when light is in your eyes.

How can I ask what life may mean if when you leave I know I'll die inside.

How can I ask what beauty is when roses know your name.

How can I ask where Eden is if when you smile the questions lost and

Dare I ask what sunshine is when light is in your eyes.

How can I ask what life may mean if when you stay I'll never leave your side.

This world is now so bright for me, yet I desire no light to see,

You brought unto my life colour and hue.

You lift me as on diamond strings, your presence makes my whole heart sing

The simplest words of 'Darling, I love you'

If even roses know your name, and people stop their life long games

To simply gaze upon us both and smile

We can both claim to play a part, in proving to them true love lasts

To never be defeated by life's trials.
