Just Another Photograph

Poetry By: Dove Hanshew

This is a poem about a photograph of my boyfriend.

Pale appled cheeks, decorated with invisible kisses.

Another brilliant white crescent smile.

Eyes, vibrantly green tinted with hazel

Intelligent against the deep blue tee shirt and the bright red pillows.

Faded freckles scattered

Like pepper from its shaker across his nose and cheeks

Light brown hair falls like a stopped wave over his forehead

With a little triangle in front of his ear.

The slight lift of his eyebrows

Show his focus on the camera before him.

When you look at this photograph, as if you were me,

You couldn't help but feel my happiness.

A smile forms upon my mouth

As I remember the days filled with hugs, kisses, and photographing.
