I stand in my bathroom, patting my hair into place--anticipation and fear overcome me

The door rings---its you

I smile--taking in the sight of you

We embrace, my fear melting away

You help me into the limo

We arrive and hand over our tickets

I cling to your arm--you squeeze my arm to reassure me

We begin to slow-dance to a John Mayer song

You sing quietly in my ear, "My dear, we're slow dancing in a burning room."
