The morning is chill and bitter
I scarcely remember crossing this parking lot
For all it’s worth, I still remember
The look on your face as we shot our last glance.
The time is nearing where we’ll meet up once again,
I think we’ve got ourselves a plan.
I think we’ve got a plan.
The afternoon we last met
I did savor that temporal, sweet embrace
And everything I can remember
Is pointing me back to when we shot our first glance.
I hoped the time was nearing when we’d meet up again,
But we’ve had a change of plan.
I think we changed plans.
Oh, life so unpredictable!
Oh, dreary day, what can be done?
A drawing of you comes to mind
And it’s dragging me back to that very last glance.
The dial tone is chirping in the back of my head—
I can still hear your voice…
I hear your voice…
Loud and clear.
