I've been thinking about you today.
I still do you know.
Not as often anymore,
but it's there-
That dull ache.
I've come to our special place.
The old oak tree is still creeping over.
His leaves are gone.
We laughed that one day he'd reach the stream.
Maybe he was thirsty?
I could swear I heard you laughing.
But I couldn't have-
Could I?
It's the river racing a marathon,
down to somewhere...
Maybe to meet you?
The sun has lost it's warmth,
yet makes an effort to show
through a pale grey cloud.
I felt your breath on my cheek.
It was a warm whisper, like your name-
I hold just beneath my breath.
I can almost see you smiling.
That secret one for me-
To the side, then up.
I'm thinking of you right...
Now.
Do you know?
You aren't with me-
but can you feel it?
Through stinging tears I see
that little patch of grass
near the bench is still bare.
The only difference is...
You are not there.
