I may not have a silver tongue
Or always say the right thing.
I may not have the perfect touch
Or even know where to begin.
I try to be romantic but I feel
awkward and shy.
I want to tell you how I feel
But I'm afraid you'll laugh.
But every moment of every day
I imagine us together -
Walking, talking, laughing, crying.
Watching, feeling, touching, dancing.
I miss the smile on your face
and the light in your eye.
I miss you lying in my lap
And talking about your day.
Because I always notice
I always listen
I always care.
I may not have a silver tongue
Or always say the right thing.
I may not have the perfect touch
Or even know where to begin.
But I do know I love you.
