Shy Words

I spent 2 hours trying to write this and I still can't think of the proper words to express my feelings.

I hear new words every day,

Yet I still don’t know what to do.

All I say is imperfect,

All I feel is never shown.

I cannot speak what I feel;

For I feel fear if I do try.

I hide behind written word

So I can hide from seeing you.

I don’t want to trouble you,

I don’t want to be mistaken.

I can’t think of words to say

How important your friendship is.

My words don’t describe that well

The happiness you make me feel.

You probably don’t share it,

But your smile makes me smile too.
