Eternal Vows

At last, he has found a person he wanted to be with,

A person who will keep him living.

A girl who will light his days for years to come.

And to her, he swears this:

“I will give you my eyes if you are blind,

My ears if you are deaf,

My fingers if you yearn for my touch,

My lips if you want a kiss good-night.

I will give you roses for something sweet to smell.

“You needn’t my heart, for you already have it.

And if you shall shed your precious tears, my shoulder is always welcome for you to cry on.

And if you ever need me, I will be there. If not in life, then in death.

“I ask for nothing in return,

Just your love and soft touch.

Nothing else; just a token of your love will be enough.

“And to you, my sweet love.

I swear these eternal vows.”
