Lullaby of Pain
It’s been a long time,
and their love is unbelievable.
He knew he needed to live a life,
but a life like this, he thought impossible.
Her smile every time he sees her
just simply blew him away.
Her eyes sparkled brightly
like the noon sun in the middle of the day.
Her touch as she kisses him with pure love
makes him happier and stops his breath.
She stops at his place for some comfort.
A bad day at work maybe, or just exhausted;
he doesn’t mind, he enjoys her company.
He welcomes her in with warm food; toasted.
She goes to bed with him that night
and he sings her to sleep.
He sings her the lullaby of pain,
the lullaby of sorrow too deep.
He could hear her pulse and the flow of her blood.
His thirst of his kind is well controlled,
In only she knew his secret,
then he wouldn’t have one to hold.
He decides to show and tell her when she wakes,
he doesn’t debates of have second thoughts.
He wants her to know the truth.
Is it bad to hold it from her, or is it not?
That morning she wakes,
he sings the lullaby of pain once more
to calm down his mind and tell her.
He knew either way that her expression would hit his very core.
He tells her, she stares at him,
Calm and. . . . . .
