Cardial Sippings

Poetry By: Lexa Therese

The following are new works I've produced since I recently began writing again. My writing is heavily metaphorical and can take on several different meanings, depending on your own perspective.. ALL comments/feedback is welcomed.

I have this jug, this pretty little jug

With a tip and a tap it's drawn me a map

The lines are all crossed and its rivers askew

It brought me this way, it illustrates you

I have this jug, this lewd little jug

So rare and so few, its colours are nude

It shames me and sees what should and can be,

But I polish and varnish so as not to tarnish

I have this jug, this ugly little jug

It's full and it's leaking, through the cracks in my ceiling

So swollen so heavy and so huge a levy,

Its size makes no difference to inside magnificance

I have this jug, this precious little jug

It's warned me and scorned me and washed me clean too

It hurts yes it hurts like the garish below

But I sip and I listen because then I will grow
