Your pictures are in the flames bent and curled,
all I ever wanted was just to be your world.
She's the one who makes your heart go pitter pat.
I'm the girl who struck out, my turn to bat.
I always feel so out of place,
seems I can't forget your face.

Those teardrops on my guitar
I keep wondering where you are.
One day I just hope you will see
you and I is the way it should be.

Your laugh and smiles all belong to her
the girl with claws and yards of cat fur.
She's the one who is your heart's desire.
I'm the one who walks love's high wire.
Guess you have stardust in your eyes
you don't see past all her sultry lies.

Those teardrops on my guitar
they form a painful aching scar.
One day I just hope you will see
you and I is the way it should be.

Seems no matter what I might say
your attention keeps shifting her way.
She's the one you say that you really love.
You're the one I'm always dreaming of.
She must have some sort of magic glue
but someday she'll be through with you.

Those teardrops on my guitar
glisten and shine just like a star.
One day I just hope you will see
you and I is the way it should be.
