Poetry - Dear God

≈Okay, this is a little different than my other poems.≈

Dear God

You've always been there

whenever I needed You, here, there, everywhere

You hear my deepest secrets and thoughts

You help me when I go through a dry draught

You forgive and forget so easy

I'm sorry for being so sleazy

My mom always taught me to love and love and love

You always taught me to fly like a dove

Fly like there's no fear inside

I have no fear with You beside

Thank you for giving me chance after chance

I know, one day I'll be on Your side in a dance

I know one day I'll sit on Your lap

with a smile on my face

There'll be no sorrow or anger in my life's trace

You died for us on a cross

Yet You rose to show You're the best

When I have You, why should I care about the rest?

My dad taught me to care

You taught me to share and be fair

You are just a prayer away

You're in my heart and You're there to stay

You are my father

and I'm proud to be called Your daughter
