As I lay in silence,

Knowing the end is near.

I look through some old photos,

Things I hold so dear.

Phographs of you and me,

Together so long ago.

Back before the great devide,

Before we let our true feelings show.

Sometimes I wish,

You would have never told me.

So maybe we could still be friends,

Like I always thought we be.

Now the memories,

Are all I have left of you.

Constantly trying to relive,

What will never again come true.

We had once been so close,

Andyou were my best friend.

Even though I'd wanted just a little more,

I thought I'd be happy till the end.

Seeing these old photographs,

Makes me wonder whythings had to be this way.

Why can't we just start over agian,

And make everything okay?

My memory of you is all I have left,

Of the time I almost knew,

What happiness was once again.

But those times are through.

Ever since you left,

I've felt nothing but pain.

My heart constantly throbing,

Hoping to see you again.

I dream of you every night,

And ofwhat we used to be.

And what could still come true,

If only you still cared about me.

Every night I see you,

Imangining what could have been.

But all this darkness,

Just couldn't be foreseen.

So now that promise,

I made to you so long ago,

Will be broken shortly,

Though you will never know.

Not until it's too late,

For you to change my mind.

Because promises that will always be kept,

Are not so easy to find.

And so when I don't respond,

Or it seems like I'm trying to hurt you,

It's not because I don't love you anymore,

It's because that promise is through.

My memories are the only thigns,

That can keep you near to my heart.

Memories are all I have left,

Even since the start.

I wish that I knew,

What you want me to do.

Do you still want me around,

Or do you want me to stay away from you?

I'd do anything for you,

So if you asked me to leave,

I'd go without argument,

This you must believe.

I'd do anything to make you happy,

Even if it caused me pain.

I'd stay up all night,

Or stand out in the pouring rain.

You can trust me,

That I hope you know.

I'll leave you alone if that's what you want,

Even thought it's hard to let go.

Because I'll still have my memories,

Of both you and I.

So even though I someday will,

These memories will never die.
