You glimpsed at me
with those glistening eyes of yours
They were so profound, so mysterious
yet endearing and attractive at the same time
My spirit was spellbinded and enchanted
That moment my long lost hope arose
but afraid was I
because you might just be the one
to tear down my wall of feigned strength
---------------------------------------------------------------
You took me out on a date
with eagerness and felicity
You ordered my favorite drink
without me informing you of that
You have the best sense of humor
and the brightest brain on earth
You never failed to make me laugh
and forget the cares of this world
You rekindled the joy has eluded me for a long time
but unnerved was I
because I might never be good for you
------------------------------------------------------------------
You held my hand
with your strong and fleshy palm
That was when I realized
how small my hand is
and how cold my soul is
Yet you clutched them tight
like they are some sort of precious gems to you
That moment I was embraced with your warmth and security
but fear crept into me silently
because loneliness and misery might just haunt me again
-------------------------------------------------------------------
You caressed my imperfect cheek
and said it was the softest thing
You pressed your lips upon my forehead
and whispered the three beautiful words
that used to be someone else's lie
You promised you'd never be like him
and I wanted to believe you
but I was terrified
because you might turn out just like him.
