Another Night, Another Dream Wasted On You

Poetry By: November

My heart's been wasted on you.

A poem inspired by Mayday Parade's 'Three Cheers For Five Years' and Paramore's 'Stop This Song'

Another Night, Another Dream Wasted On You

Why is it when you want to keep your mind off something,
she's the only thing you think of?
That no matter how far you try and run,
you can't outrun true love?

Another night, another dream,
I don't know what to do.
Please don't twist this out of shape,
but I wasted time on you.

Not because you are not perfect,
you just don't have a clue.
I've gone to far to ease through this,
my heart's been wasted on you.

Back when I was unaware,
ignorance, like you, was bliss.
At least though now I know the truth,
we'll never share that kiss.

Still if I could just rewind today,
I'd do it in a different way,
I'd rethink all the things I said,
perhaps you'd fall for me instead.
