That Song We Used To Play

Poetry By: numnums

Every couple has a song that represents them. Those feelings are brought back every time you hear it, even if you're no longer together.
So what's your couple song?

That Song We Used To Play.

Do you remember?

When we'd sit on the roof without a care

Sharing a pair of earphones

I'd try reaching out my hand

To the navy blue sky

Back when you held my heart

I remember you would always pull the earphone out

So it would fall out of my ear

And I'd pretend to be mad at you…

The song we always used to listen to back then

Suddenly starts playing on the street corner

And the memories come flooding back.

Seeing you on that street corner too

My heart opened up again

And suddenly our eyes unexpectedly met.

When you were mine

And I was yours

You said you'd always protect me

So tell me now,

What happened to those lyrics

That made this feeling make sense?
