A message hidden in a secret smile,
A feeling smothered by depression,
Sadness behind a cheerful face,
A special time and a lonely place.

Advice disguises a hated pain,
Compliments are less than meant,
A watch symbolises a broken heart,
Two lives split and torn apart.

A mind lost in a sea of dreams,

A statement eclipsed by blurting out,
A question hushed by salty tears,
Sarcastic comments mute private fears.

Sad music strikes a harmony with my mood,

Writes notes upon a torn up soul,
Trying to smother my only care,
With a cheerful bubbly smiling air.

My ex, my living laughing life,
The girl now gone, my fabled wife
