The day I struck the Jackpot was
When I met you
Like a bar of chocolate
In a glass of milk
Or an overflow of cream
Like a casket of gold and diamonds
In my hands
Like sweet wine
Of the latest brand and finest brew
Like the perfume perfuse
Of celestial incense
Like an exotic spice
Of a flavor and aroma
Like a castle in the woods
Fully furnished and furbished
Like a princess and queen
In a wedding dress and bouquet
It’s what you’re to me
And even more
For you’re my everything
What water is to vibrant green
Air to living being
Land to intelligent life
And heaven to saint
What colostrum is to neonate
Oxygen to asphyxiant
Erythrocytes to anaemic
And life to the soul
You’re the wellspring
Of my life
My reason for breathing
The cohesive element
That binds to together
All the broken pieces
In the jigsaw puzzle of my life
It’s something sweet
Like a leaf
That falls by gravity to earth
And returns no more
So did I fall for you
Forever
Dear Eve
I love you with all
My genome
Spiritual and physical
