If I Don't Buy You Roses

Poetry By: palewriter

Just a little doodad I made up. It was inspired by JWB's poem Red Roses. If you get a chance read his work. He's a great poet with a big heart.

The idea behind this was, it's ok to get flowers but don't forget the person giving them.

If I don't buy you roses
Don't bother asking why
Their life spans but a moment
Compared to you and I.

Their petal's scented pleasures
May soothe a troubled soul
Yet what you've done for me love
so few have ever known.

Through years if you desire
Bouquets to see and touch
In simple ways I need you
To want me just as much.

But if by chance it happens
I fail to wake one day
look for me where roses bloom
on earth or far away.
