A Companion

Poetry By: parkelis

The universal fear that we experience as we grow old without a lover.

There must be a love in my life,

someone to call my wife.

But what if there is not one,

Is my life plan already done?

What will I do,

I seek something new.

There must be a companion in my future,

someone with that one special feature.

I'm afraid of what there could be

and what there can't be...for me.

I need to know the answers,

but now I feel like all the other beggars.
