I am the one who got away,
the one who has now lost her way.
That day was just not my day,
but tomorrow I might die, as it is a new May.
I am the one who cried.
The one who did not die.
I only continue on through self-told lies,
So that from my ache I may fly.
I am the one who lives on,
the one who is withdrawn.
Am I a living pawn?
I want to be gone.
I am the one that hugs you,
the one that kisses you.
I speak to you,
and love you, though you are dead.
Please take me with you, Joey.
