Poetry By: patspoems

This was written for a Challenge. The challenge was to write a poem on a subject - mine was Death. I was given the quote which is in "inverted commas" in the poem and was written by Kahil Gibran, that had to be incorporated in the poem. Like other Callenges I have entered the results were never published!!

Death is just a moment,

So why do you fear?

Eternity awaits you,

All earths worries gone

Only peace from that moment on.

Please believe it's true, God is near.

When you question the soul and it's eternity

When you listen to those who doubt

When you struggle to deal with dying

And think that those who teach "forever" are lying

Speak to your heart and shout :-

"Oh heart, if one should say

That the soul perishes

like the body, answer that

the flower withers but the seed

Shout this and remember that

Death is just a moment.
