Imposed Love

Poetry By: Sk2093

Love cannot be forced upon someone.
If there is no love in return, it's time to let go.
Sometimes love is about letting go, being selfless and letting your loved ones be happy.

This poem is about a man who forced his love onto a girl, after a long time realised his mistake and is finally setting her free.

Imposed Love

A year has passed,

But I could not make this last.

I held onto you all I could.

You loved him, not me

And here I stood solo in this love of ours,

I'm sorry I forced you to accept my bouquet of flowers.

I remember holding you,

Whilst you tried your best to get away.

I remember you running too,

Having the urge to hide away.

I remember screaming,

Pleading, fighting

Just to make you stay.

I realised not,

That our moulded clay pot,

Was the result of my obligate.

I was causing you pain,

And yes, I take the blame.

I am sorry,

Truly I am.

But now to set things right,

I leave this land,

In the hope of you in a better hand.

I plan to set things straight,

Find you your

Soul mate,

And I hope I'm not too late.

I guess I should have known,

That I was destined to be alone.

I should have known this day would one day come,

When I finally realise I must leave you in the arms of another handsome.

I'm doing it now.

I'm leaving you,

Leaving you for good.

Go out there and fulfil your wishes,

Do not fear,

For my Blessings you shall carry along with you, my dear.

Run -

Chase your fate,

I pray that at me, you do not show hate.

It's the right thing to do.

And I wish the best for you.

I want to see you smile and so,

I'm letting you be,

Setting you free,

So you can be far far away -
