Destroying Love

No. Love cannot be forged

Yes, Love. Love can be fatal.

It can make anyone insane.

it can derange the mind and body.

It can bleed and kill the soul.

It kills slowly.

It creeps towards the heart cautiously,

And leaves its sickly sweet venom

In the chambers of the heart

And in the veins- confusing the mind,

Letting it take pleasure in its

Deadly poison, its drug.

Love reaches the heart

And twines its thin, lithe, spidowy-like veins

Around it, and squeezes hard.

It compresses painfull and

Takes away the blood- slowly and gradually.

The heart becomes a slave

To those vine-like veins.

It beats for it, and

It only.

Slowly, though, the beats

Begin to fade,

The heart begins to slow.

No more blood.

No more soul.

No more life.

The heart grows cold.

The heart reaches, finally,

Its last dry thump and goes still and

Sits like a hollowed-out stump.

Yes, love is that cruel.

Well, its been cruel to me.

But love, mind you, can be

Oh, so, sweet.
