A love affair from a far?

Seeing you across the room to looking like a lonely groom.

Standing tall like a bird, I start to see your words.

Brownish blonde hair exploding like a field of wild flowers.

Cleanly shaven like a dove I start to feel your love.

Emerald eyes in a stare looking through the jungle of hair.

A button nose that’s so grand, as you start to play in the sand.

Love so great and so fine I’m so proud that you are mine.

Shining teeth has the sun as I watch you go have fun.

As the light turns to gray to wonder to your place.

Seeing you running in the light I start to feel a great delight.

Once you turn and walk towards me, I start to forget the way.

Standing next to me toes to toes you say, “Daddy can we go get some ice cream?”
