For my love not too long ago :)

The world around you is cold
As you gasp for forbidden air
You left me in the dust
How could you leave me lying there?
You douse yourself in this pool of venom
You bought it off the street
Now, I can't find the grip to spare you
If our lips would never meet
I can't dissolve the darkness that somehow strangles,
Nor save you from yourself
You won't let me inside
And you wrenched me off your shelf
I force back your eyes to 'oh so long ago'
When suicide was a foreign tongue
You turn a backwards glance.
Curious, were only some
The youth had you surrender
And I- your protector- was too far off
Lying amongst the horizon, to await greetings
Thus were not gentle or soft
Yes- I fell in love
An encrusted, heartfelt dream
But what you were really a part of
Was my schizophrenic scheme
I trapped you in a cage
And forced the words "I do"
I made you fall for me
Like I had fallen for you
Now your hands lay shackled
Resting inside mine
Now, you've been forgiven
For as long as we're intertwined.
A nervous laugh escapes your mouth
As you are strained to agree
That I am the one for you
And you are the one for me.
