Droplets of Water

Poetry By: Yusufalam

A couple meet for the last time in a garden, and watch rain as it falls on to an electric cable..

Both sat in the garden, watching the rain

She showed him the water droplets on a cable

They all seemed to be longing for each other

Expressing their love in a wordless poetry

But no sooner a droplet touched another

They would fall down to the ground

And get lost in the harsh, ruthless sand.

She asked him why they lusted for each other.

Why they wanted to be together so badly,

Knowing this would be the end of them

He kept silent, until it was dusk

And it was time for them to separate, forever.

"All they care about is a moment of togetherness,

And it doesn't matter to them if they die fulfilling this dream"
