"Katelyn! Time to wake up. You have school today.", Kitty's mom yelled up the stairs. Kitty looked at her ceiling and frowned. 'Another day in this wretched hole. High school needs to get over with so I can get out of this house', Kitty thought. She crawled out of bed and grabbed some skinny's and a loose shirt out of her dresser. She threw them on then brushed her blonde hair. Kitty ran to the bathroom brushed her teeth and threw some light makeup on, eye-liner, mascara, and some cover-up. She didn't want to be late for the bus again. Not with what happened last time.
Kitty ran down the stairs just in time to hear the bus honk. She gave her mom a quick kiss on the cheek and was out the door running down her driveway to catch the bus. She boarded and was greeted with laughter. 'Great. Another day at school, where everyone hates my guts. Just fricking great! I so can not wait til this year is over', Kitty thought as she had balled up papers thrown at the back of her head.
She was curious with what people were saying to her this time, so she opened one of the crinkled balls. Hey emo bitch! Why don't you go crawl under a rock and die. Nobody wants you. You're a worthless piece of trash that needs to go kill herself. She opened another and it said, Nobody want's you here! Go back to the cave where you belong. Worthless ugly bitch! More haters. Yay.
Kitty unfolded the crinkled balls and got her notebook out. Then put the papers in the notebook so she can but them in her secret box later. 'What was up with kids at school? Why couldn't they just leave me alone? Especially with what is going on at home. With step-father coming home drunk every night and slapping mom around. Then having them screaming all night long at each other. Why does it have to happen to me?' Kitty's mind was shifting through so many things at once, she didn't see the new kid get on. She kept looking out her window until David, the jock, sat down next to her. He wrapped an arm around Kitty and she froze.
"Kitty, a group of us were wondering if you would come with us after school to my place. We're having a party and we wanted to invite you.", while David spoke he kept moving his arm lower until his hand was laying on her upper thigh. He then reached his other arm around to her 'private area' and tried unbuttoning her skinny's.
Kitty's eyes grew shocked and she slapped David. He looked at her then hissed, "Little emo bitch. You are going to get it! You better watch your back." And with that he got up and moved to the back of the bus. Kitty heard him start to tell 'his group' what happened. He was telling them that she was trying to make the moves in on him. But they were all lies! Oh well, Kitty couldn't do anything about it.
The bus pulled in front of the school and Kitty was the first one off. What she didn't know was that the new kid was following her. He wanted to keep an extra eye on her. He thought, ‘There is something about her that is different.’
Kitty ran into the school. She didn’t want anyone to see her almost break done. She hated crying. It showed how weak you actually were. Kitty then decided to skip school. She walked back out of the front doors and started to walk down the sidewalk. Kitty didn’t want to deal with the stress of the bulling today. She continued to walk until she came to her favorite cafe.
Kitty went into the building and sat down at the farthest table away from the door. Soon after she sat down, the bell above the door rang. She didn’t look up til she saw someone standing before her. Kitty closed her eyes then opened them and looked up. Standing before her was a handsome boy about her age, with grey eyes and black hair. He was staring at her intensely and was about to say something when she said, “Can I help you?”
The boy stares at her than looks away. “Sorry, I.. um.. why are you skipping school?”, the boy said, then thought, ‘I want to hold you and make the pain go away. Make them not hurt you anymore. I love you.’ Kitty kept looking at him then said, “Do I know you? What’s your name?”. What was going through her mind was totally different. ‘You are the first person to talk to me and actually care. I want to leap into your arms and stay there forever. I love you.’
The boy looked at Kitty and smiled, “Sorry.” Then he reached his hand out towards her and said, “I’m Nathaniel. And you are?” Kitty shook his hand then said, “My name’s Katelyn. But you can call me Kitty.” While shaking hands, they both felt sparks but ignored them physically. ‘Nathaniel, please take care of me. I need someone like you to protect me from the bully’s. Plus we were meant to be together. My heart will forever be your’s.’ While she was thinking this, Nathaniel was thinking this, ‘Katelyn, Kitty, what a beautiful name to go along with a beautiful face. Damn! I will protect you! We were meant to be together forever. My heart is forever in your care.’
Nathaniel sat down and both of them started talking about life. Both, Nathaniel and Kitty, found out that they had a lot in common. Kitty found out that Nathaniel was new to school and she warned him about the people there. Then she showed him the crinkled papers that got tossed at her everyday.
When Nathaniel first saw the letters, he nearly cried. He thought, ‘Kitty shouldn’t have to be putting up with this crap. She needs someone to be there to help and protect her.’ Kitty’s hands were sitting on the table and Nathaniel reached across to hold her hand. They both felt sparks again when their skin touched. She looked up and started to smile and he did the same. Both knew that this was only the beginning of a deep love.
Kitty stood up than grabbed Nathaniel’s hand and dragged him out of the cafe. She told him that she wanted to be with him and he told her that he wanted to be with her to protect and love her. They walked back to the school building holding each others hand. They were happy together. Then the unthinkable happened. David, the jock, was walking out of the school building with the other jocks. Kitty was so caught up in looking and talking to Nathaniel that she didn’t see David swing. Before she knew it, Kitty was on the ground bleeding.
Nathaniel bent down to help her and got kicked by the other jocks. They both sat there holding hands looking into each others eyes and saying I love you over and over again. David then took a baseball bat to Kitty’s stomach and kept swinging that bat at her. Nathaniel tried getting up but David swung the bat and hit Nathaniel in the shoulder, breaking it. Nathaniel feel to the ground, crying. He tried crawling to Kitty and finally made it to her, then wrapped his good arm around her and held her. Whispering to her that he will never let her go and that he loved her with all his heart. Kitty whispered the same thing back.
“Aww look at the two love birds! Haha. Well, we don’t like worthless pieces of trashy love birds here. Go to hell you ugly bitches.”, David said. With that everything went black for Kitty. Nathaniel saw Kitty die in his arms then he saw David swing and kill him.
Kitty and Nathaniel were holding hands as they rose above their bodies. It was a bloody mess. Kitty and Nathaniel’s blood was all over the sidewalk, their bodies, David and the other jocks, the grass and some was even running into the street. It was a murder and no one was around to see it all unfold until a minute to late.
David and the jocks didn’t hear the police pull up, but when they finally noticed, they were already in cuffs. Kitty noticed that nobody was crying for their deaths. Until her mother showed up. Nathaniel noticed that his mother showed up too and floated with Kitty over to her. He gave her a hug and his mother shivered. Kitty did the same.
Nathaniel then took Kitty’s hand and looked into her eyes. “I love you Kitty. I never got to fully know you but I know that we were meant to be together. I’m sorry that we didn’t get to spend time together and I’m sorry that we only met today. But I love you with all my heart and now we are finally together forever.”
Kitty looked at him then hugged him. She pulled away, smiled and said, “I love you with all my heart Nathaniel. Even though we never got to know each other, I felt like I knew you when you first grabbed my hand. My heart will forever be with you. I love you!” With that they rose. Holding each other in their arms, never letting the other go. Rising to a new beginning. Rising to a new life in Heaven.
