Sweet Sorrow.

Danny and Nicole were the perfect couple they had been in a relationship for 7 years and they hadn’t once fallen out, but this is their unlikely story. Danny approached the incoming call from his phone to find his girlfriend knocking at his door; he went to the door to find a very upset Nicole, “Nicole! Babe it’s raining cats and dogs out there, quick get inside I’ll get you a towel!” she stepped inside and sat down on the soft leather sofa. She could hear Danny bouncing down the stairs in hurry, “Nicole, here you go keep yourself warm” as he gave her a big hug from behind “ Oh baby girl, what’s the matter, wipe those tears off your face, you can tell me anything!” she gave him a small smile and said “Danny, do you love me?” he snapped a quick “ yes, of course!” as she spoke again more tears fell down her cheeks “am I your world?” once again he snapped a confused “Nicole, why would you ask me that you know your my world! Now what’s wrong?” she burst out into tears as she pulled herself back together she said one final thing “Danny, would you die for me?” by this time he could feel his heart pounding as he got down on one knee and said a firm “Nicole, I would die for you I would do anything for you! Now tell me what’s wrong and why are you crying!?” she threw down the towel and ran out the house crying her eyes out. He ran down the street after her but she had disappeared into the mist by then. The next day he arrived at school waiting nervously outside the gates waiting for his Nicole to arrive. Amber one of Nicole’s closest friends walked anxiously pasted Danny, but before she could get away he had already stopped her, “Amber where is Nicole she normally arrives with you?” “She’s not coming today she’s gone to the doctors” amber said as she ran off in a hurry. Danny was so confused, it was time for class when he stopped amber again “amber I’m going to call Nicole okay” “I wouldnt do that!” she snapped “and why?” asked Danny full of anger. He sat through each and every lesson with a tear in his eye. School had finished as he ran home and called Nicole. Nicole: “hello? *sniffles*” Danny: “Nicole? It’s me Danny, are you okay? Why weren’t you at school? Baby what’s going on?” Nicole: *crying* Danny: “Nicole?” Nicole:”Danny if I die young berry me in satin and lay me down on a bed of roses sink me in the river at dawn sail me away with the words of a love song…” Danny:” I don’t understand?” Nicole: *strong cries, hangs up* That next day he did the same thing and waited at the gates where Nicole would normally meet him, he felt so upset, he walked around school searching for her and hours past. He kept thinking of the last words she told him, he still didn’t understand… once again he bumped into amber. This went on for 3 weeks and he began to worry she haven’t been at school for 3 weeks and he hadn’t heard from her. When he got back from school he got a call from Nicoles mum. Mum: “Danny? Could you come down to the hospital please? *hard cries from the background* Danny: *hangs up* Once again it was pouring down with rain as he grabbed his 10 pound note and ran outside, he sprinted to the shops and brought a ‘mine forever’ teddy bear and a rose. He ran and ran and ran as fast as he could to get to the hospital. He knew it was Nicole. By the time he got there Nicole’s mum was worrying, he ran into Nicole. “Nicole!! I love you so much never forget that, I will be yours forever where ever you are, you are my baby girl and no one you hear me NO ONE can replace you!!” screamed out Danny tears flowing by the hundreds. “I know you do babe, Danny ….” She spoke softly. “Yes babe?!” he mumbled, “I have caner and only have 2 weeks to live” she whispered with a short breath, he dropped to the floor and broke down in horror; tears ran constantly he handed over the teddy but kept the rose. One week passed and for the first time in a wee he went to school, but to return to Nicole’s bedside. Half way through the day in the middle of maths he had a text from Nicole’s mum, saying ‘Danny… she is leaving us, not for a short time, forever D:’ he burst out in tears as he sprang out of his seat and jumped into the nearest taxi and told him to speed to the hospital. He reached in his pocket to find the note Nicole had gave him 4 years ago saying… ‘Danny +Nicole My baby boy forever, never to belong with anyone else, my heart beats for you Danny Smith’ His tears fell and smudged the ink as he pulled up outside the hospital. He ran into the dark hospital and fell to Nicole’s bedside. She looked at him with a smile. “Your smile is beautiful I love to see you smile and be happy, I love you more than anyone, your my one and only,” “always mine” she said as her eyes started to flicker she was able to pass him one last note. Her eyes closed and her breath slipped away. He held in his tears as Nicole would have wanted him to do. He got the rose out of his pocket and one by one picked out the petals and lay them around her, quickly before he left school he was able to grab some purple satin from textiles, he lay this around her and slipped the note she had gave him into her hands. He kissed her forehead and sat by her body; he sat and read the note. It red… Danny, If you are reading this then I have left you but remember this I have and always will love you, When I die, berry me in satin lay me down on a bed of roses, sink he in the river, at dawn and send me away with the words of a love song, gather up your tears and lock them away never ever remember me as the Nicole I have been lately remember me as the fun loving bubbly bright know it all I was :P I cant tell you how much I love you. On the back of this note I attached the last picture of me and you together, before I came into hospital. He sat and watched it sink until it disappeared into the mud. He walked over to a quite part of the woods and as he promised that he would die for Nicole he took himself to a deep part in the woods tied his rope and jumped, as he spoke Nicoles last words, Always mine…
